Best Adult Dating Sites and Hookup Apps I’ve Actually Used
Every year a new batch of dating sites launches promising to revolutionize how adults find sex. Most of them are the same recycled garbage in a shinier wrapper. I know because I sign up for all of them.
Here are the platforms that earned a spot on my list not because they paid me but because they actually delivered real conversations with real people:
Tinder – Still the default. Enormous user base, fast matches, zero pretense about what most people are there for.
Feeld – Built for the sexually adventurous. Couples, kinksters, anyone tired of pretending they want vanilla.
Ashley Madison – Controversial but functional. Discreet adult dating for people in complicated situations.
Hinge – Surprisingly good for casual if you filter right. The prompts give you more to work with than a shirtless mirror pic.
Adult Friend Finder – The veteran. Massive catalog, active community, and yes real people actually use it despite what it looks like at first glance.
Bumble – Women message first which filters out the worst opener offenders immediately.
I rotate through these regularly and update my reviews when things change. Algorithms shift, user bases migrate, and the site that worked six months ago might be dead now.
What doesn’t change is my criteria: real users, functional features and a platform that respects the people on it.

Sex Positive Means Telling the Truth Not Just the Fun Parts
Being sex positive gets misunderstood constantly. People think it means saying yes to everything. It doesn’t. It means being honest about desire without shame and equally honest about the parts that suck.
Bad hookups happen. Apps lie about their user numbers. Someone you matched with turns out to be three red flags in a trench coat. That is part of the experience and pretending otherwise helps nobody. I write about all of it because the messy parts are where the useful information lives.
I came up on Tumblr where the line between porn and discourse barely existed. That taught me something valuable you can reblog something that turns you on and in the next post break down why consent matters in kink spaces. Sexuality is not one note. It’s complicated and contradictory and worth examining closely.
On SexBloggess you’ll find sex toy reviews next to essays about feminism next to brutally honest hookup site breakdowns. That’s not a lack of focus. That’s what sexuality actually looks like when you stop pretending it fits in a single category.
I’m a self-described terrible writer who keeps writing anyway. If you find something useful, relatable or just amusing here then I’ve done what I set out to do. Welcome to the blog. It’s good to meet you.
